We have been compelled to make clear our stance on these important 
matters due to the growing political and religious promotion of 
homosexual behaviors, same-sex marriage, and different sexual identities. 
We hold that the Holy Scriptures—our infallible rule of faith and conduct—
must be used as the standard for all decisions regarding our religion and 
behavior. It is crucial that the church and the 
people correctly recognize and articulate what it teaches on these subjects 
that have now grown to be so contentious and divisive because the Bible 
speaks to the nature of humans and their sexuality. Writings supportive of 
the LGBT (Lesbian/Gay/Bisexual/Transgender) community have presented 
revisionist readings of pertinent biblical texts based on biased exegesis and 
mistranslation, reaffirming biblical principles all the more necessary.
